Are you a young construction worker?

April 2024: We are looking for young workers in the British Columbia (BC) construction industry to complete a confidential online survey about their current job/trade, working conditions that could contribute to musculoskeletal symptoms, and how these affect their well-being.

Individuals who consent will be entered into a draw to win a $100 Amazon gift card as a thank you for participating in this study.

Findings from this project will be used to help develop education and training and inform the early identification and interventions to improve construction workers’ mental health and musculoskeletal health.

We are recruiting participants who:

  • Are between the ages of 16 and 30 years
  • Are currently employed in the construction industry in BC, and have been for at least one month at the time of completing the survey
  • Have never been diagnosed with any type of work-related musculoskeletal injury by a medical doctor, physician or other healthcare provider.

If you are interested in sharing your experiences or would like to learn more about the project, please contact Chizitara Nkwopara at ycws.research@ubc.ca or 604-822-0200.
