Walk for Truth – Asbestos Kills
July 2013: Partnership staff Suhail Marino and Billy Quirke walked in the annual Walk for Truth, hosted by the Asbestos-related Research, Education and Advocacy Fund (AREA Fund) in Powell River, BC on June 22nd, to raise awareness of the hazards of asbestos and to honour victims of asbestos-related disease.

Day of Mourning
April 2013: On April 28 workers, families, and employers will remember those who have lost their lives to work-related incidents or occupational diseases. A ceremony will be held in Vancouver on April 26 at 10:30am. More information about this ceremony and others.

Asthma surveillance among workers

New funding to examine work-related injuries and long duration claims in three Canadian provinces
February 2013: The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba Research and Workplace Innovation Program has provided funding for a 2 year project comparing injury claim rates in BC, Manitoba, and Ontario.
